Description
The first earrings feature the Egyptian King God Amun, Father of Pharaoh. Amun, the god of the air, was one of the eight primordial Egyptian deities. Over the centuries, Amun’s role evolved; during the Middle Kingdom, he became the King of the deities, and in the New Kingdom, he was revered as a nationally worshipped god.
The second earrings are adorned with the Egyptian God Osiris. Osiris held a dual role as both a god of fertility and the embodiment of the dead and resurrected king. This dual role merged with the Egyptian concept of divine kingship: upon death, the king became Osiris, while the living king was identified with Horus, the god of the sky.
